Over the age of 50, the prostate gets bigger and eventually prevents the bladder from emptying. The patient then has difficulty urinating and the urine stream becomes weak (Dysuria). He needs to go to the toilet often (Pollakiuria). The total blockage or retention of urine is very painful and requires the urgent placement of a bladder catheter.

Currently, drugs are very effective enough to treat 90% of our patients. Only 10% require an operation.

The size of the prostate determines the surgical technique. The urologist has the choice between treatment by endoscopy (scraping) or a classic operation when the prostate is larger.

Urolithiasis is the presence of one or more stones in the kidneys, ureter, bladder or urethra.

Organ descent or prolapse is a pathology in multiparous women (who have given birth to several children).

Childhood Urology concerns diseases of the genitourinary system (kidneys, ureters, bladder, urethra, external genitalia) of little boys and girls.

The pediatrician, the pediatric surgeon and the urologist are authorized to manage these pathologies with medication or, if necessary, by surgery.
